Elephant sketch, ballpoint pen. 2013
Face done with acrylic paint. Smoke is a mix of acrylic, colored pencil and pastel pencil.
Bird of unknown origin. Acrylic paint, ink and pen on paper, cut out.
Blue Jay. Acrylic paint, ink and pen on paper, cut out.
Two out of three completed birds, framed. Finished for now, or until I decide to add more branches, a background or possibly a smaller bird/birds to scale. Each one is approximately 8x10 on hand cut black mat board.
Another bird of unknown origin. Paint, ink and pen on paper, cut out. Approximately 8.5 inches from beak to tail, 5 inches from top to bottom (feet). Part of a larger piece.
Completed bird. Not exactly sure what kind it is, need to do more research. Scanned and cut out, placed on black background for better contrast.
Completed bluebird drawing, cut out and placed on black background. Still going to be a part of another, bigger piece. Rescanned, higher res version.
Updated blue bird. Not quite finished yet. New technique for me. A mix of colored ink, water, acrylic paint and fine line marker (pictured).
Quick pencil sketch of a bird I’m going to be completing in ink. Not sure if I’ll be using colored ballpoint pens or the usual ink and markers I use all the time.
Tried not to get too detailed, as this is just the rough version. That’s why the bottom feathers look better than the beak/face area.
